On August 1, 2024, the L.A. Village Deepwell, a new water source in
Brgy. Tuntungin Putho, was officially inaugurated in a significant event that
marks an improved service in the community. The ceremony saw the presence of
key figures from various organizations. Representing the Local Water Utilities
Administration was Corporate Board Secretary Mr. Julius Basa. The Local
Government Unit of Los Baños was led by no less than Mayor Anthony “Ton”
Genuino and Vice Mayor Josephine “Baby” Sumangil. The Laguna Water District was
represented by Chairperson Aleli San Agustin and GM Jay Bunyi, while Manila
Water Philippine Ventures that has a controlling stake at LARC since April this
year was represented by Ms. Maidy Lynne B. Quinto, Regional Operations Group
Director for Luzon.
With GM Arra Italia-Patricio at the helm of LARC, the community can
expect that upcoming projects will effectively address the ongoing water
supply and quality challenges in the area.
The L.A. Village Deepwell has been operational since June 21, 2024,
providing water to 2,562 service connections in Brgy. Tuntungin Putho in Los
Baños, as well as nearby barangays. This development marks a significant
improvement in the water infrastructure of these communities.
