The Engineering Associate Manager manages, plans, organizes and controls the activities of the Engineering Division. He/She manages the preparation of Engineering studies, plans, design and estimates of water supply and civil work projects including technical specifications, terms of reference, contracts, bid and tender documents.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages, Plans, Organize, Directs, Monitors and Controls the activities of the Engineering Division.
  • Manages the preparation of Engineering studies, Plans, Design, and Estimates of water supply and civil work projects including technical specifications,
    terms of reference, Contracts, Bid and Tender Documents.
  • Directs and reviews preparation, maintenance and updating of GIS database.
  • Manages construction and project planning and develops effective monitoring and evaluation system of on-going development projects.
    Conduct inspection and recommend acceptance of completed projects and programs.
  • Develops and Manages the preparation of an effective asset management system to put into place policies, plans and strategies for acquisition,
    operation, maintenance, overhaul and disposal of pipeline and appurtenances, equipment and facilities.
  • Accomplishes the following activities;
      1. Prepare regular (monthly, quarterly, and annual) accomplishment, performance evaluations and technical reports to the Group Head.
      2. Prepare Division’s Budget (CAPEX/OPEX) with the objective of achieving cost effective levels of operations.
      3. Initiates requisitions or certifies acceptance for materials, supplies, equipment and construction/installation contracts.
      4. Coordinates with various divisions/groups and related agencies relative to planning and implementation of projects and procedures.
      5. Conducts researches within his area of competence.
      6. Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and performance appraisal; coaching, counseling, disciplining staff; enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and updates on a yearly basis or as deemed necessary, company standard unit costs related to engineering works like infrastructure projects,
    pipelaying, and others; and submits for approval to MANCOM/Management.
  • Performs other related functions as may be required.

  • Qualifications

    • Licensed Civil Engineer /Sanitary Engineer or any Relevant Engineering Field
    • Total of 5 years in either design, project management, project implementation, or combination of any of these expertise (must total 5 years)
    • 24 hours of relevant training to engineering or project management
    • Strong management and leadership skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Experience in project implementation is a plus
